Greene County Solid Waste Office is located at 795 Hal Henard Road Suite 2.
HOURS:
Monday thru Friday: 6:00am-2:30pm
Used tires are collected at this site on Monday and Wednesday only and an appointment is required. The cost to dispose of used tires is 260.00 per ton. There is an additional charge for the following:
Large Tires (per tire)
Agricultural tires (over 48″) – $27.00
Tires with large rim beads (over 1″) – $54.00
Dumpster rentals are only available to Businesses. The rental Fee is $25.00 per month and there is a $30.00 charge each time the dumpster is emptied. There is also an $20.00 dumpster drop fee for new businesses.
Open top containers are also available to rent. These containers are available to individuals and businesses. There are 15, 20, 30, and 40 yard containers and are rented for one month. Call the office for pricing and additional information.
NEW RENTAL OPTION
WEEKLY RENTAL OF 6 YARD CONTAINER
Customer must come into the office and sign contract and pays $200 (check or money order only) prior to delivery.
Delivery will be ANYTIME on designated day (Tues- Friday) and will be picked up the following week’s designated day.
The “6 yard” container sizes vary but are APROXIMATELY 6ft x 6 ft width and 5-7 ft tall.
Included weight is 1 ton, if it goes over, then there will be an additional $65 PER TON OVER CHARGE that will be billed to the customer.
Blocks, bricks, dirt and concrete are NOT acceptable in the containers as well as the following: tires, liquids, paint, any batteries, mercury-containing lamps, lighting ballast, pressurized vessels, gas tanks and containers, freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners, asbestos, and electronics. ANY ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED IN THE LANDFILL.
All tire disposal and rentals require payment with check or money order. Greene County Solid Waste does not accept cash.
The Greene County Solid Waste Department will resume accepting recyclable textiles at the following convenience centers:

South Greene
Walkertown
West Greene
The community can place used clothing, shoes, belts, purses, backpacks, linens, bath towels, bath rugs, curtains, and tablecloths in the containers. This will contribute to an increase in our counties percentage of recycling and prevent additional materials from being added to the landfill. These containers will be available for use starting March 21, 2026. As community participation increases, additional containers will be added at other convenience center locations.
