The Animal Control Office employees 5 full time Officers and 1 clerical position that work 8 hour shifts. Three Officers work “road calls” and one Officer performs office/shelter duties at the main facility at 990 Hal Henard Rd. The one clerical position preforms office/shelter duties at the other facility at 950 Hal Henard Rd. The 6th full time employee is the Director of Animal Control that over sees all activities and also works road calls and office/shelter duties.
The Greene County Animal Control handles rabies programs, operating the shelter and serving as the main contact for reporting animal bites, working with the Greene County Health Department for rabies control and clinics, which offers low-cost vaccinations for pets at various locations throughout the county through local vets.
Stray animals are picked up Monday – Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DOMESTIC ANIMAL RESPONSE PROTOCOL
EMERGENCY AFTER HOURS CALL
After hours emergency calls include – vicious animal, severe animal attacks, sick or strange-acting animals, or animals taken into care due to a traffic stop and arrest. Due to staffing law enforcement makes the initial after hours response and determines if animal control is needed or if the situation can be resolved.
STRAY ANIMALS AND ANIMAL WELFARE INVESTIGATIONS
Stray animals and animal welfare investigations are conducted during weekday work hours. After hours/weekend will be made based upon emergency criteria .Greene County Animal Control will respond to after hour’s calls at the request of on scene law enforcement officers.
